Scam Alert! - PureWhite - Dazzle White - Perfect Smile - Premium White Pro - Teeth Whitening System is a SCAM!

iMakeInternet.com — Thu, 12/10/2009 - 15:46

We normally do not write about other companies here on iMakeInternet.com but today I really felt the need to get the word out about a company that goes around changing their name every few months to avoid being caught scamming innocent unsuspecting people out of their money.

The company name is known as PureWhite, Dazzle White, Perfect Smile and Perfect White. They advertise a so-called 14-day FREE trial for a teeth whitening system. All you have to pay is the shipping and handling (which anybody knows is normal). Here's the catch: Your free trial order does not arrive to your address until around day 13 of your 14 day trial, leaving you thinking you have 1 more day to cancel the trial. What the hell? This story even gets more disappointing... Buried deep in their terms of service is a term that make me want to find the person who came up with this and do mean things to them. Here is the term I am referring to:

Once the fourteen (14) day Trial period is over, your Active Credit Card will be charged the monthly Membership fee of Eighty-Seven Dollars and Sixty-Two Cents ($87.62) ("Monthly Fee"). Your next (1) month supply of Premium White™ Products will be shipped thirty (30) days from the date that your initial one (1) month supply was shipped in connection with your Trial Membership. Thereafter, for as long as your Membership remains active, your Active Credit Card will be charged the Monthly Fee on a monthly basis, for your ongoing Membership. You hereby authorize Premium White™ (or its partners, affiliates and/or agents) to charge your Active Credit Card all such fees associated with Membership on a monthly basis. You acknowledge and agree that Premium White™ will not obtain additional authorization from you for each installment of Monthly Fees charged to your Active Credit Card. In addition, you do not hold Premium White™ responsible for any overdraft charges or fees which you might incur during the ongoing Membership.

So what they are basically saying is once your trial is over you are automatically charged for a full membership. This makes sense but if you continue to read further down where they talk about actually canceling your trial before you get billed. It reads:

7. Cancellation of Membership. You may cancel your Membership at any time if you are not completely satisfied. To cancel your Membership you must contact Premium White™ customer service by contacting Premium White™ via telephone at (866) 528-6214, Monday through Friday, 5:00 AM – 8:00 PM, MST. Saturday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, MST. Please have your e-mail address and other Registration Data available for efficient processing of your cancellation order.

If you decide to cancel your Membership prior to the expiration of the fourteen (14) day Trial Membership period, your Active Credit Card will still be charged the fee of Eighty-Seven Dollars and Sixty-Two Cents ($87.62) at the end of the Trial Membership period.

The following conditions apply to any cancellation: (a) you shall not receive any pro-rata refund of your Monthly Fees for partial months; (b) you shall not receive any refund for the Shipping and Handling Fee or Foreign Shipping and Handling Fee, as applicable; and (c) you shall not receive any refund for amounts previously paid up to the date of cancellation or termination and you remain liable for any and all unpaid charges billed by Premium White™. You understand and agree that cancellation of your Membership is your sole right and remedy with respect to any dispute with Premium White™. Upon any termination and/or cancellation of your Membership, your license grant, as set forth in Section 8 hereinbelow shall immediately terminate.

Are you kidding me? If I decide to cancel during my free trial I will still get charged the full membership amount? And there isn't anything I can do about it? This is borderline insanity and whoever is at the head of this company/scam needs to be dragged across a sheet of razorblades and dropped into a pool of iodine.

This article is meant to disgrace the company above and any other company practicing these crappy sales tactics. Rot in hell you bastards.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE WEBSITES!

Teeth Whitening scam

Anonymous — Wed, 01/20/2010 - 17:40

This article states exactly the hellish nightmare we recently went through. Not only did we get the product late, but the bank graced us with NSF fees! We only found out about this a few days after they took my 87.62 when going to do some banking. We left the bank in amazement, regrouped our thoughts, started checking online for information and found many others have gone through this, ALL OVER THE WORLD, we were all taken advantage of! We went directly back to the bank to cancel the debit card, and lodged a fraud complaint. The bank was very helpful in getting the NSF written off, the card canceled and lodging the complaint for us! Banks can be very helpful we have learned. To end, the money was credited to the bank account, once it's found to be a fraud, banks will honor the claim. Beware of those ads for white teeth and go see a dentist instead if you really want white teeth that bad, in the end it will be worth the cost!
